In Chicago, the city restored the statue of Jean Baptiste DuSable. DuSable was a prominent, Haitian-born Chicago settler. He was labeled as the ''founder of chicago'' in 1968 by the state of Illinois. When they found the statue, it had a black mask that had been painted across it's face. The paint from the statue dripped down the cheeks of Jean Baptiste DuSable. Andrzej Dajnowski owns the Conservation of Sculpture and Objects Studio, Inc. Dajnowski says it took wax, turpentine, acetone, and several hours to clean and restore the statue.
